Leslie Jean Porter
Before developing and creating the character and stories behind Peepers, author Leslie Jean Porter has had an extensive career as an award winning producer, director, and writer. She communicates, not only in film, but also through her paintings, costume design, and photography. She has an outstanding knowledge of the entertainment industry in acquisitions, marketing and distribution.
Leslie Porter graduated from the Bard College in New York, after which moved to Europe to begin her career. She has worked with everyone from fashion designer Louis Feraud to renowned indie film director Robert Altman. In 1994, Porter was named Head of Acquisitions for Ciby 2000, a major film production company in France. During her time there, she worked closely with some of the greatest independent directors of this generation, including Robert Altman, David Lynch, Pedro Almodovar, Wim Wenders, and many more.
After leaving Ciby, Porter continued to work as a film producer for several years before settling down in Palm Springs, where she currently owns and operates her own art gallery. This gallery is where Porter features her vibrant paintings, as well as local artists' work. She also hosts a number of events at, from poetry readings to book signings to dance parties. In Leslie's own words, "I've spent my life creating in as many ways as I could and I've enjoyed every minute of it!"
Michel Doré
Illustrator Michel Doré has worked on a large number of projects in film and television, and now he is the artist behind the adorable Peepers the duckling!
Doré graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Paris with High Honors. Since then he has worked as a storyboarder, illustrator, painter, and even an actor. Some of his film and television credits include the following:
